  • How many years have you been in aviation? Almost 18

Jordan Tatton has built a well-rounded career in airport operations, pairing technical expertise with a passion for mentorship and service. Since joining Salt Lake City International Airport in 2015, she has held roles as Operations Coordinator, Airfield Operations Specialist, and Supervisor in the Terminal/Landside Division. Today, as Airport Operations Manager, she leads a team of nearly 100 employees and has played a key role in restructuring the division, writing job descriptions and developing a tiered career ladder that created clear growth opportunities for staff.

Her leadership extends well beyond daily operations. Tatton leads the airport’s Family Assistance Center Taskforce, working to refine plans under the Federal Family Assistance Plan and ensuring preparedness in the event of an aircraft accident. She also coordinates logistics for the arrival of refugees, partnering with local organizations to create a safe, efficient, and welcoming experience for those starting new lives in the community. Her quick thinking and commitment to excellence have also been recognized—she received the Salt Lake City Fire Department’s Citizen Commendation Medal in 2021 for saving a passenger’s life during a cardiac arrest emergency.

For Tatton, the most fulfilling part of her work is the collaboration it inspires. “Solving issues with the amazing people I work with and together making a positive impact at our airport is incredibly fulfilling,” she said. With her Accredited Airport Executive credential, years of operational experience, and commitment to mentoring others, Tatton continues to shape both her airport and the wider aviation community.
