London, Kentucky Airport Leveled by Tornado

Hangars, and at least a half-dozen aircraft, including several vintage airplanes and an ultralight, were destroyed in the storm.

A tornado that killed at least 17 people in the London, Kentucky, area on May 16 destroyed much of the local airport, as well as at least a half-dozen aircraft, including several vintage airplanes and an ultralight.

Reports said one aircraft was sucked up into the vortex of the funnel cloud.
