With more than 17 years of global experience spanning North America, South Asia, and the Middle East, Muhammad Usman Akram has built a career at the intersection of technical excellence and project leadership. Currently a Project Specialist at Connico, he applies his international background in civil engineering and project management to some of the most complex aviation infrastructure projects in the U.S.
Akram’s path began in Pakistan, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and later a master’s in project management. He went on to manage construction and expansion programs at airports including Bacha Khan International, New Islamabad International, and Hamad International in Doha—programs that serve millions of passengers annually. Since joining Connico in 2023, he has made an immediate impact by streamlining contract management systems, leading independent fee estimate services, and refining workflows that improve profitability and client service.
For Akram, the draw of aviation is its constant challenge and variety. “Every project brings its own set of unique circumstances—different technologies, changing variables, and specific client needs,” he says. “It’s not just about finding a solution, it’s about the process of discovery, creativity, and collaboration that makes each project rewarding.”
Beyond his project work, Akram is committed to mentoring younger professionals, presenting at international aviation summits, and pursuing his Ph.D. in construction management at the University of Cincinnati. A servant leader at heart, he strives to set the highest standards in project delivery while inspiring others to reach their full potential.
