The Measuring Division of Kaman Precision Products, Inc. is showcasing its line of high-precision non-contact displacement sensors that are used for industrial condition monitoring.

These Advanced Magnetic Sensing (AMS) solutions provide root mean square (RMS) resolution as low as 1 micron, ensuring accurate measurements for industrial machinery condition monitoring.

Key measurements that Kaman’s AMS sensors monitor include:

  • Non-contact speed sensing
  • Shaft runout
  • Changes in vibration profile
  • Gear tooth condition monitoring
  • Surface finish thickness inspection
  • Crack and defect detection

These capabilities provide benefits like:

  • Lower risk
  • Minimal damage
  • Lower frequency of unplanned downtime
  • Fewer unexpected failures

These AMS sensors are available with various hermetic options, and all are IP-67 rated, available in the following configurations:

  • AS4320 pressure port compatible
  • Bolt head
  • Flanged
  • Threaded

Users can also customize the solutions for semi-custom needs or specific OEM integration.

With non-contact measurement capability, Kaman’s AMS sensors help to preserve the sensor condition and extend its useful life in industrial environments. They also provide several output options, including:

  • 0-10 VDC
  • 0-5 VDC
  • 4-20 mA
