BendixKing ADS-B Compliant Transponder Ready to Take Flight on Helicopters
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Oct. 10, 2017 – BendixKing, a business unit of Honeywell (NYSE: HON), has announced that its MST 70B transponder has completed helicopter vibration testing. ACSS completed the testing for the transponder, and the new technology has passed and is ready for certification onboard commercial helicopters. In addition to helicopters, the technology is also currently available across a variety of fixed wing applications such as business jets, and military aircraft.
In July, BendixKing announced that it had become the exclusive provider of the MST 70B in the business jet and military market. This new completion of helicopter vibration testing opens up additional markets for the MST 70B, increasing availability across virtually all segments of aircraft platforms.
“It is our goal to make sure that our customers always have the best and most cost-efficient technologies available to them. That is why we are pleased that the MST 70B passed helicopter vibration testing. With this important milestone reached, we can begin working with partners on certification across several platforms,” said Gregg Cohen, president, BendixKing. “This, and our exclusivity agreement with ACSS in the business jet and military markets, make sure that we are able to provide our customers with the best retrofit upgrade option available to keep them flying safely well past the 2020 FAA mandate deadline.”
With the MST 70B, operators have a safety upgrade option that will not add weight or increase power consumption on their aircraft because the transponder is designed for easy slide-in installation using existing BendixKing MST 67A mounting racks and connectors, limiting aircraft downtime and providing increased savings during installation.
In addition to certification for helicopters, BendixKing’s MST 70B also has supplemental type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration, Transport Canada Civil Aviation and the European Aviation Safety Agency. The BendixKing transponder is available for installation at any Honeywell or BendixKing dealer. It is also available as a retrofit option through the Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan program. We also welcome you to join BendixKing at the National Business Aviation Association show in Las Vegas Oct. 10-12. We will have our latest products on display, and will be available to answer questions in booth #N5100.
