OneReg Confirms New Investment for Expanding Aviation Compliance Technology Globally
OneReg has announced a new investment from Air New Zealand that aims to support the global rollout of OneReg’s aviation compliance platform.
OneReg was established due to global aviation shutdowns and inefficiencies in legacy compliance processes exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, aiming to provide a single worldwide digital ecosystem for regulatory compliance and documentation.
Air New Zealand has acquired a 5% stake in OneReg and has shared plans to integrate OneReg’s regulatory compliance platform at the company’s operational and safety units.
This investment is a significant contract for OneReg, as it’s with a major airline and allows for deployment on a large scale.
Air New Zealand has also deployed OneReg in its Engineering and Maintenance divisions, where teams use the platform for airworthiness and maintenance tasks like:
- Managing policies
- Overseeing processes
- Implementing and reviewing procedures
“OneReg is operating in a niche that’s absolutely mission‑critical for aviation,” said Clinton Cardozo, founding CEO, OneReg.
Cardozo continued, “However, the industry still runs on a lot of outdated systems and technology—including emailing Word and Excel documents to share between parties. The reality is that as soon as these are emailed, you lose version control.”
“When we started OneReg, we firmly believed that by building a platform that solves that problem, airlines and airports could get certified, approved and audited faster, and therefore move and innovate faster too,” added Cardozo.
Air New Zealand’s Chief Executive Nikhil Ravishankar led the initiative partnering with OneReg. He said,“What stood out most was OneReg’s willingness to co‑innovate and co‑develop solutions with Air New Zealand.”
Ravishankar continued, “OneReg offered a system with the flexibility to manage updates and documentation in real time, aligning with the airline’s broader shift towards more digital, data‑driven ways of working.”
This investment also showcases OneReg’s commitment to modernizing regulatory workflows and aviation safety around the world.
As OneReg already provides support to airports in New Zealand and Australia, the company hopes to start collaborating with customers in:
- Europe
- Asia
- Middle East
“Having such a forward-thinking airline like Air New Zealand onboard opens a lot of doors for us,” Cardozo said, “We are talking to other airlines, and announcements of contracts with new international airports are likely in the near future.”
“Our technology advantage is a key differentiator in a sector dominated by legacy platforms,” added Cardozo.
OneReg is supported by regulators like the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAANZ) and by investors like:
- Angel HQ
- Ascendo Capital
- K One W One
