Russia Launches Major Missile Attack on Kiev
Kiev — Russia has resumed ballistic missile attacks on Ukraine after a pause of several nights, as the capital Kiev came under fire early on Thursday.
Up to six repurposed Zircon anti-ship missiles were fired at Kiev, according to military-linked Telegram channels. A dpa reporter heard several heavy explosions in the city.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported damage to office buildings, a warehouse and a residential building, among other sites. At least 11 people had been injured, Klitschko wrote on Telegram.
Media reports said water supplies were disrupted in some districts on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River.
The cities of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhya in southern Ukraine were also attacked with ballistic missiles, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Ukraine, meanwhile, attacked targets in Russia with combat drones, according to reports on Telegram channels.
The targets included the southern Russian city of Rostov and Yaroslavl, north-east of Moscow.
Several Russian airports were forced to temporarily restrict operations, aviation authority Rosaviatsia said.
