US Announces $1.3 Billion Military Equipment Package for Ukraine
Washington — The US government has announced a new round of military aid for Ukraine worth $1.3 billion.
The Pentagon said on Wednesday the aid package would focus on bolstering Ukraine's air defences and replenishing ammunition stockpiles.
Four NASAMS surface-to-air defence systems, drones, 150 fuel trucks and mine-clearing equipment are included in the package and will be provided by defence industry partners, not the US military itself.
According to the Pentagon, the United States has provided or pledged more than $40 billion in military aid to Kiev since the war began in late February 2022.
Almost two weeks ago, the US announced that it would also supply controversial cluster munitions to Ukraine.
