Student Pilot Crashes at North Perry Airport, Taken to the Hospital

A plane crashed Tuesday morning at North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines, sending a student pilot to the hospital.

Just after 10 a.m., the student was alone in the small 172 Cessna when he attempted a landing. It did not go well, the Broward County Aviation Department said.

He slid off the runway into a grassy area, taking out two signs.

Pembroke Pines police and fire-rescue responded to the crash, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said.

“The crash was minor,” Pembroke Pines police said.

The pilot was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injures.
