Stertil-Koni Floor Pit Jacks with a Hydraulic Telescopic Piston Deliver Wheels-Free Lifting

Stertil-Koni aims to provide a heightened level of safe, dependable and durable lifting in workshops across North America utilizing below-floor concrete pits.

The solution? Air hydraulic pit jacks – equipped with telescopic pistons – engineered by Stertil-Koni.

The company, in a news release, points out the challenge is clear: Many of today’s pits still do not have the proper equipment to enable mechanics to safely remove under-vehicle components, including transmissions, axles, exhaust systems and more – or to work on wheels. As a result, many pits are under-utilized and used only for routine inspections and standard lubrication maintenance.

Stertil-Koni engineered its free-standing rolling pit jack products to deliver a lifting capacity of 33,000 pounds. They are specifically designed to operate on the pit floor – independent of pit edges or walls for support – as these surfaces may not be adequately reinforced or sufficiently strong.

Peter Bowers, technical sales support manager at Stertil-Koni, explained: “Our unique Floor Pit Jack design optimizes performance and safety with a completely freestanding mobile unit. Lifting is done by an air-driven, fully hydraulic pump actuated by tandem foot pedals.”

One pedal quickly raises the piston to be in contact with the vehicle being lifted while the other allows precision lifting in small increments. In this way, the service technician is hands-free to work on the vehicle or operate other tools.

And what’s special, Bowers continued, “this lifting approach does not use the vehicle wheels as lifting touch points, allowing their free movement and removal. While it’s exceptionally popular with our customers for removal and replacement of transmissions, it’s also a great solution for providing complete access to vehicle wheels.”

The Stertil-Koni Floor Pit Jacks, available in two base frames, deliver a robust 33,000-pound lifting capacity and operate with a smooth, high-speed piston that provides an expansive height of 87 inches.

Concluded Stertil-Koni President Dr. Jean DellAmore, “The floor pit jacks are part of our broad range of heavy-duty lifting systems, shop equipment and accessories – all designed to deliver the very best in safe, dependable and durable products supported by world-class customer service.”
