WingWalker

Aug. 1, 2011

Thousands of costly accidents occur worldwide
within airport operations.

The Solution:
The WingWalker™ is a wireless collision avoidance safety system that prevents accidents during push-back operations by providing advanced warning to tug operators. It will improve your safety performance benchmarks while avoiding costly downtime and repairs from avoidable collisions. Most importantly, the WingWalker™ Safety Management System (SMS) easily integrates with your existing business practices.

By simply pressing the warning button on the LED transmitting wand, ground support now has the ability to instantly send a message to the tug operator to stop in the event of a potential collision or incident. The tug operator immediately receives the signal via a vibrating alarm pager putting out up to 120 dB. In addition, our signal activated LED tug strobe will flash, giving you an added layer of redundancy and safety.

The Design:
Inspired by working airline officials, we've developed this SMS tool based on the ideas and experience of the hardworking men and women in ground support.

Each component of the WingWalker™ kit is designed for the rigors of everyday use and abuse! As a result, we've designed the WingWalker™ pager with a rubber overlay to withstand shock, weather and conditions of the ground support environment. The batons are made of high impact polycarbonate plastics utilizing LEDs for longevity, brightness and significantly lower battery consumption. The tug strobe is also built tough with high impact plastics, LEDs, gaskets and a water proof switch. The charging bases plug into one another reducing trip hazards while
requiring fewer power outlets.

The Benefits:

• Advanced Warning of Collisions
• Significantly Reduced Accidents at     Gates
• Fewer Injuries
• Improved SMS Standards
• Increased Situational Awareness
• Avoid Preventable Expenses

The Good News:
Easily integrated into your existing operating practices, the WingWalker™ gets the job gets done safely; without breaking your budget.

Take the first step to reduce downtime and expensive repairs while achieving measurable progress
towards your safety goals.
