Oct. 30, 2018
More than 300 companies from 56 countries vied for the award. The Supplier Challenge won by 14bis Supply Tracking focused specifically on ideas that have the potential to rethink maintenance and related aspects of the aviation supply chain.

14bis Supply Tracking was selected as the winner of the Supplier Challenge category in the world’s first Aviation Blockchain Challenge organized by Lufthansa Group's Lufthansa Innovation Hub (LIH) and SAP.iO. On October 23, 2018 the culminating pitch challenge took place at the Lufthansa Aviation Center next to the Frankfurt Airport. More than 300 companies from 56 countries vied for the award.

Nine companies in total were selected as finalists by SAP.iO and LIH. The innovation divisions selected several leaders from their own organizations to mentor and prepare the finalists for the final round of live pitches, addressing an audience composed of Lufthansa’s and SAP’s top ranks. The Supplier Challenge won by 14bis Supply Tracking focused specifically on ideas that have the potential to rethink maintenance and related aspects of the aviation supply chain – from document tracking and digitization to the transparent verification of documentation.

The 14bis Supply Tracking proprietary solution leverages advanced blockchain technology as a secure interoperability layer to provide tracking of physical and digital assets. The 14bis system can read any existing tagging mechanism and automatically update any existing industry software system, eliminating the need for paper-based documentation. The result is real-time supply chain transparency and immutable lifecycle provenance tracking.
