Contract Furniture Manufacturer Kusch+Co is Taken Over by Market Leader Nowy Styl Group

Jan. 15, 2019

The third-generation family-run contract furniture manufacturer Kusch+Co from Hallenberg (Sauerland) will become part of the family-owned Polish Nowy Styl Group. In recent years, the Nowy Styl Group has already made three acquisitions in Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland as a strategic investor (Grammer Office, Rohde & Grahl, Sitag) and proved to be an outstanding partner in this context. The company generates over 80 percent of its sales outside its home market and achieved sales of around EUR 380 million in 2018.

Ricarda Kusch, the managing partner of Kusch+Co, said that the reasons for the sale of the contract furniture manufacturer Kusch+Co, with its 250 employees and a turnover of approx. 40 million euros, were, on the one hand, a noticeable increase in competitiveness in a highly globalizing competitive environment and, on the other hand, the considerably improved possibilities for the traditional Kusch brand in terms of product range, service and sales. In Europe and the Middle East alone, the Nowy Styl Group has 16 branches and 29 of its own showrooms as well as a dealer network of 3,500 partners.

According to the Nowy Styl Group, Kusch+Co's many years of expertise and market leadership in the furnishing of airports (240 projects worldwide from Amman to Zurich) and in the health sector (including hospitals and senior citizens' facilities) are particularly attractive.

Nowy Styl will take over Kusch+Co as of January 2019. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The managing directors of the company, Ricarda Kusch and Bernd Heuvens, will continue to manage the business.
