Spirit Airlines Grows Network Into Indianapolis

Dec. 11, 2018

Beginning March 14, Spirit will begin nonstop daily service from Indianapolis International Airport (IND) to Orlando International Airport (MCO) and McCarran International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas.   Just about two months later, on May 2, Spirit will add nonstop seasonal flights between Indianapolis and Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) three times weekly.  The new routes will also create dozens of connections to other destinations in the United States, as well as the Caribbean and Latin America.

“Spirit Airlines is so excited to be expanding yet again, this time to the charming city of Indianapolis,” said Matt Klein, Spirit Airlines’ senior vice president and chief commercial officer.  “A growing metropolitan area, Indy has a lot to offer from local food and craft beer, to family friendly attractions including, of course, some heart pounding racing.  We’re also equally excited to connect our new Indianapolis-area Guests to incredible entertainment, beautiful beaches, and world-renowned theme parks.”

"This is more than just a new airline announcement for the Indianapolis International Airport; it's a bridge to many places -- both via nonstop flights and the market connections that Spirit Airlines can provide at an ultra-low cost for thousands of Indy travelers," said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez. "And that ultra-low cost comes with a big focus on the customer experience, an approach that resonates with our passenger amenities at the airport and how we deliver public value.”
