GlobalAir.com Unveils Aircraft Showcase App

Oct. 10, 2017
With Aircraft Showcase, you can use a search index or tap on the labels of aircraft to prioritize them by type, make, model and level of interest.
Las Vegas, NV— OCTOBER 10, 2017—Finding the right airplane for any application from anywhere in the world is as easy as tapping on the screen of an iPhone or iPad thanks to a new App announced today at the National Business Aviation Association-Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) by GlobalAir.com.  The Louisville, Kentucky-based Internet aviation search engine and information service is making “bulky, heavy bound paper resources a thing of the past—for both buyers and sellers of aircraft,” according to Jeff Carrithers, chief executive officer of GlobalAir.com.   “We’ve revolutionized access to aircraft that are on the market with a free, on-line App that features high quality images, technical data, range and performance information.  This is the first multi-dimensional digital magazine in the form of an app.  It will be how information is dispersed in the future.  We have significantly raised the bar.”

“Essentially, we’ve created a user experience like no other, with a dozen on-line ‘magazines.’ They’re differentiated by type of aircraft, so that a potential buyer can select from any of the twelve classifications to begin a search,” he continued.  “This is not just a website with an app cover.  The Aircraft Showcase was designed from the ground up using app technology, page flipping, geo location (GPS) range finder, social media interaction and several other tools.  The classifications range from amphibians to commercial; experimental/kit; helicopters; light sport; private jet; single engine piston; single engine turbine; twin engine piston; twin engine turbine; vintage; and warbirds.”

Carrithers emphasized that the app is not only free to download but it provides additional features to those who register and share information for Globalair’s analytics.  “We ask a few basic questions such as ‘Are you a pilot, chief pilot, aircraft owner or potential buyer?’ and ‘How soon do you plan to buy an aircraft?’  Registration also triggers the creation of an account to the Globalair.com website and provides access to a variety of on-line tools. The app is efficient in more ways than just displaying aircraft,” he explained.

“The days of pilots sitting in FBOs leafing through stacks of magazines are history,” Brett Davis, Globalair’s.com’s, chief technical officer pointed out. “Now, thanks to the Aircraft Showcase, you will see them ‘flipping the pages’ of the app, which offer far more details, technical data and aircraft history at their fingertips than the pages of a magazine.  And, the app pages don’t weigh anything or take up space in a briefcase,  they aren’t difficult to find each month and don’t have to be carried around until the next issue comes out to check on an ad or aircraft.

“Advertisers will love the Aircraft Showcase app, too.  We share our analytics with our advertisers but abide by a strict privacy code of ethics; their personal account information is never released.   Registered users choose pre-selected magazines of the classifications in which they are most interested.  When they begin flipping through a specific magazine they can tap on a particular aircraft of interest and access additional information downloaded from the Globalair.com website.  They can also use a search index or tap on the labels of aircraft to prioritize them by type, make, model  and level of interest.  Lastly they may  tap on a ‘thumbs up’  icon and save specific aircraft to a ‘Favorites’ page  for quick reference and easy review,” Davis said.

There are several communications tools available via the social media icon as well.
Future plans in upcoming versions will include “push technology” allowing the user to set parameters on exactly what aircraft they wish to see.

“This is like no other app ever seen…and it’s available now for serious buyers and sellers of aircraft around the globe.  We will be offering live presentations at our booth, C9818, during the NBAA Convention, and of course it is now available in the Apple Store (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/globalair-com-aircraft-showcase/id1165831804?mt=8).” Carrithers said.
