New Concessions Coming Soon to Halifax Stanfield
Travellers and visitors to Halifax Stanfield will soon have new retail and food options. Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) on April 18, announced Pannizza and Amos Pewter will open this summer.
“We look forward to welcoming both Pannizza and Amos Pewter to Halifax Stanfield,” says Jo-Anne McLean, HIAA director, air service & terminal development. “We are in the process of revamping our concessions program to bring more choice and new product offerings to our passengers, visitors and airport community. As we firm up details with prospective partners, we will be announcing additional offerings and new concepts in the coming months.”
Pannizza will be located in the current Chickenburger location in the food court. The Chickenburger is scheduled to close April 21. Shortly after the closure, Pannizza will begin construction and open later this summer.
“Pannizza is a fresh, hot, new concept and we are very excited to be part of the airport’s new food offerings,” says Halifax entrepreneur, Dan Boyd who is the franchisor of Pannizza Restaurants in Atlantic Canada. “Pannizza has over 50 locations under development throughout Canada and 15 are in the Atlantic Canada Region.”
Pannizza offers personalized pizza, baked panini, poutine and salad. With over 50 fresh ingredients to choose from, guests can customize their meal choice and it’s ready in just over two minutes.
At the same time, construction has begun on Halifax Stanfield’s newest retail partner, Amos Pewter. The store will be located in the airport’s main lobby and is scheduled to open early this summer.

Amos Pewter was established in 1974 in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. Current locations include: Mahone Bay, Historic Properties in downtown Halifax, Peggy’s Cove, and Charlottetown.
