Alaska Airlines Announces Nonstop Service From Silicon Valley’s Airport to Dallas-Love Field

April 13, 2017

Adding to the three new nonstop destinations from Mineta San Jose International Airport it unveiled just last month, Alaska Airlines announced Wednesday it also will offer daily nonstop service between SJC and Dallas’ Love Field (DAL), beginning February 16, 2018.

SJC currently ranks as America’s fastest-growing airport when measured by year-over-year percentage growth in seat capacity, and today’s announcement further accelerates that ranking. Not coincidentally, San Jose also rapidly has grown into a key focus city for Alaska Airlines, which will provide nonstop service from SJC to 20 different destinations once the new routes commence – the most of any airline operating at SJC.

“Alaska Airlines continues to demonstrate a huge commitment to the people of San Jose and Silicon Valley,” said San Jose Director of Aviation Kim Becker. “We’re grateful for their partnership and for their expanding investment in SJC.”

Alaska’s daily Dallas flight will include three classes of service, using Embraer 175 jets operated by SkyWest Airlines. The inbound flight will depart DAL at 1:25 pm, arriving SJC at 3:15 pm. The outbound flight departs SJC at 2:40 pm, arriving in Dallas at 7:59 pm. The route also is served already by Southwest Airlines, SJC’s largest carrier based on passenger volume.

Alaska previously had announced in March that it will introduce daily service to Tucson, a new destination for Silicon Valley’s airport, beginning August 28, 2017, and will launch service to Austin with daily flights the same day. The carrier also is initiating four flights daily to Los Angeles (LAX) starting September 20.
