KCI Passengers Up 5.3 Percent in June

The city of Kansas City, Mo., Aviation Department reports that 1,032,599 passengers arrived and departed through Kansas City International Airport’s gates in June, up 5.3 percent from June 2015. For the year to date, total passengers in and out are 5,318,450, up 6 percent. June passenger boardings were up 5.4 percent, with a total of 512,759. For the year to date, boardings are 2,664,004, up 6 percent.

Air cargo tonnages, which consist of both freight and mail transported by air, for all carriers at KCI were up 5.5 percent in June with a total of 15.7 million pounds handled, and 98 million pounds handled year to date, up 6.1 percent. Air freight handled at KCI during June amounted to 15.1 million pounds, which represents a year-over-year increase of 5.5 percent. Year to date, air freight is up 6.1 percent with a total of 95.4 million pounds handled.
