Manik Arora Of Arora Engineers Inc. Joins ACC Board of Directors
Alexandria, VA - The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) is pleased to welcome Manik Arora of Arora Engineers, Inc. as a new member of the ACC Board of Directors. He will fill a vacancy on the board created by the departure of Steve Riano with Bechtel Corporation.Per ACC bylaws, Arora was nominated by ACC Board of Directors Chair Carol Lurie with VHB, Inc. and approved by a majority of board members to serve out the remainder of the term, which ends in November 2015.Lurie thanked Riano when announcing the new board member. "Steve made tremendous contributions to ACC as an organization," said Lurie. "His engagement and expertise in the international airport development market were particularly valuable in helping to grow ACC's stature on a global basis. He consistently provided good input on the future strategic direction of ACC, and he will be missed."Lurie continued, "I am pleased that Manik Arora has agreed to fill this position for the remainder of the term, and I look forward to working more closely with him in the coming months. He has been a dedicated advocate of ACC through leading and supporting ACC committees, events and other initiatives."As the President and CEO of Arora, Manik is responsible for the administration and management of the firm. His duties include business development, project oversight, and client relations. He has over 25 years of specialized experience in the planning, design, and construction management of airside and landside projects for major hub airports, airlines, and support facilities. His primary areas of management include: primary/secondary voltage, airfield lighting systems, electrical service equipment, third rail power distribution, security access control, universal cable distribution systems, and telecommunications. He is also involved in several professional organizations, including: Society of American Military Engineers, Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers, National Fire Protection Association, National Society of Professional Engineers, Engineers' Club of Philadelphia, and the American Association of Airport Executives. Manik graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer in more than 25 states.
