LA GUARDIA AIRPORT, New York (October 10, 2011) – FlightSafety is introducing a new training course material presentation and electronic distribution system that will significantly enhance the training experience of its Customers. The system will take full advantage of new functionality and features available in digital presentation and tablet computer technology.

“Our goal in developing this new electronic training course material presentation and distribution system is to provide our Customers with more convenient access to pre-study and classroom course materials and to offer added functionality that will significantly enhance their training experience,” said Greg McGowan, Vice President, Operations.

FlightSafety plans to transition from providing printed training manuals or PDF files on CD or USB drives to offering a full complement of pre-study and course manuals through the myFlightSafety Customer portal.

Once registered for a course, FlightSafety’s Customers will be provided access to new enhanced digital versions of the training materials in advance of their course. In addition, FlightSafety’s Learning Centers have been equipped to provide Customers with access to their course materials while attending training. The materials will ultimately offer 3D graphics, video and other advanced features.

In response to Customer demand, FlightSafety has also developed an iPad app that can be downloaded at no charge from the iTunes App Store. Once enrolled in a FlightSafety training program, the app will automate the downloading of course materials, and will ultimately offer the ability for Customers to use a revisions service. It will initially be offered for Gulfstream GIV, GV, G450, G550, G280 and G650 aircraft training course material.

The app includes an advanced notebook function that automatically transfers the Customers’ notes and bookmarks to subsequent document versions and enables them to move seamlessly between the Gulfstream PlaneBook app and FlightSafety publications. The company plans to offer the app for other aircraft training programs through the myFlightSafety portal in the future and will redesign the iPad app features to support other tablet devices and operating systems if Customer demand warrants.
