Duncan Aviation Adds Parts Manufacturing Approval to Renewed ODA Authority

LINCOLN, NEB. — Duncan Aviation has received approval through the FAA’s Wichita ACO to renew its Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) authority for the next three years, adding Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA) to its revised ODA procedures and naming Jim Ferguson as ODA PMA Administrator.

For 30 years, Duncan Aviation has been manufacturing aircraft parts under its PMA authority with the FAA’s approval. The added ODA PMA authority now authorizes Duncan Aviation to issue, revise and approve PMA supplements on behalf of the FAA using such methods as Supplemental Type Certificates, Test and Computation and Licensing Agreements.

The ODA held by Duncan Aviation is an appointment by the FAA giving the authority to inspect and declare all work “compliant and legal.” Duncan Aviation is among a select few given the authority to approve design data, analysis and test procedures, witness compliance testing, as well as make a finding of compliance to the regulations and issue Supplemental Type Certificates (STC), Major Repairs and Alterations (MRA) for interior and airframe modifications and avionics systems and system upgrades and now PMA. All of Duncan Aviation’s delegated authority is managed under the ODA, providing increased flexibility and more efficient turntimes.

Duncan Aviation holds many FAA PMA parts approvals, specializing in rare, discontinued and one-of-a-kind business aircraft parts. For a list of authorizations and capabilities, please visit www.duncanaviation.aero/parts/pma/parts_manufacturing.php.
