August 1, 2006, Tokyo/Seattle - Alteon Training, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) today opened a new world-class pilot and maintenance training facility at the Flight Training Centre of ANA (All Nippon Airways) in Tokyo, Japan.

The new facility, close to Tokyo's Haneda Airport, is available to airlines worldwide and is operational as of today.

Under the terms of the agreement between Alteon and ANA, ANA will make its full flight simulators available to Alteon outside the times scheduled for its own training needs. Alteon will use its proprietary courseware and course material, computer based training, instructors and administration to provide training on the 737-500, 737-700, 747-400, 767, 777, A320 and Q400 aircraft types.

"We are pleased to extend our 'working together' relationship with ANA which helped Boeing launch the 787 Dreamliner with the largest launch order ever for a new Boeing jet," said Lou Mancini, vice president and general manager of Boeing Commercial Aviation Services. "The new center," Mancini said, "is one more way in which we are working together with ANA to provide world-class pilot and maintenance training to the world’s airlines and their passengers.

"We are delighted to continue our relationship with ANA," said Pat Gaines, Alteon president. "This alliance will allow both companies to increase their training capabilities and asset utilization without a large capital outlay and, at the same time, provide other airlines with access to training closer to their home base," he said.

Looking to the future, Alteon will also install in the center a 787 training suite including a full flight simulator, flat panel trainer, simulation based training tools and more by the first quarter of 2008.

Alteon Training is a recognized leader in working with airlines to provide integrated solutions for pilot, maintenance and cabin crew training.
