Singapore Airlines Ltd. said Thursday it signed an agreement with Rolls-Royce Group PLC for the company to provide maintenance for the Trent 800 engines used in the carrier's fleet of 58 Boeing 777 aircraft.

Britain's Rolls-Royce will provide off-wing maintenance, repair and overhaul of the engines, as well as spare engine support, the airline said in a statement.

The engines will be repaired at Singapore Aero Engine Services Ltd., a joint venture between the carrier's unit SIA Engineering Co. and Rolls-Royce.

The value of the proposed deal wasn't announced.
