Manufacturer and designer of aircraft engines Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp (P&WC), a division of United Technologies Corp (NYSE:UTX), announced on Tuesday (22 May) that the company is expanding its global customer support with the opening of a new facility near London Luton Airport. The company said that the new facility will service P&WC engines operated by NetJets Europe and other customers. The facility, located 10 miles from the Luton airport, will reportedly provide fan-engine repair and hot-section inspections for JT15, PW300 and PW500 series engines. The Luton facility will also be the base for a mobile repair team and will be directly connected with P&WC's new Customer First Centre providing 24/7 front-line support to customers of P&WC engines worldwide, the company said. The new facility is expected to open in June 2007. Until then, P&WC technicians are currently servicing NetJets Europe PW500 series engines from a temporary facility at London Luton Airport.
