Designer and manufacturer of aircraft engines Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp (P&WC), a business unit of United Technologies Corp (NYSE:UTX), on Wednesday (23 May) announced that the company has signed a one-year repair and overhaul/exchange engine maintenance contract with Avior Airlines of Barcelona, Venezuela. The contract covers Avior's fleet of PT6A-67D-powered Beech 1900D twin-turboprop aircraft. Under the terms of the contract P&WC will perform PT6A-67D engine overhauls for Avior's fleet of 11 Beechcraft 1900D aircraft, used on scheduled and charter services within Venezuela and the southern Caribbean. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
