CHARLOTTE -- LAN Airlines, one of the largest carriers in South America, has selected Goodrich Corporation to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul(MRO) services and asset management solutions for its growing fleet of Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft powered by V2500-A5 engines.

Under the terms of a 12-year agreement, Goodrich's Alabama Service Center in Foley, AL, will refurbish thrust reversers on a scheduled basis and provide MRO services for inlets and fan cowls as conditions dictate. In addition, Goodrich will supply on-site spares as part of its Aircraft On Ground (AOG) support package.

"Through Goodrich's new Prime Solutions full-service aftermarket support approach, we're able to offer our customers highly customized support packages that include MRO services, management of spares, rotables and other assets, and dedicated Goodrich technical support of the flying hardware," says Goodrich Alabama Service Center general manager Stuart Kay. LAN Airlines is one of the principal Latin American airlines. It was recognized as one of the best-managed transportation companies in that region as part of a 2006 Euromoney study. By 2008, LAN Airlines will have 33 V2500 engines in its fleet. This number is projected to grow to 42 by 2017.
