Southwest Plane Makes Emergency Landing
SACRAMENTO -- A Southwest Airlines jet made an emergency landing at Sacramento International Airport Monday after one of its engines lost power soon after takeoff, an airport official says.
No passengers were aboard.
The Boeing 737 was being ferried from Sacramento to Dallas, says Gina Swankie, an airport spokeswoman. Two pilots declared an emergency, shut down the engine, and landed safely at 7:40 a.m.
Airline mechanics were trying to find the problem.
Airline spokeswoman Marilee McGinnis said no passenger flights in Sacramento were affected by the landing.
