Dallas, Texas - June 26, 2008 - BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul companies Dallas Airmotive, Premier Turbines and International Turbine Service have been granted Importer Self Assessment (ISA) certification by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a branch of the Department of Homeland Security.

ISA certification means that the companies have met and maintain high standards of Customs compliance. Benefits of ISA certification include being removed from the focused assessment pool, less CBP oversight, faster cargo release and expanded prior disclosure benefits.

“We’ve gone through a great deal of effort to win this certification so that customers can be assured of the fastest and smoothest possible shipping of their engines and parts supplies,” said BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul President, Hugh McElroy. “We’re proud to be among the few U.S. companies to achieve this status.”

A select group of about 170 industry leading U.S. companies are currently ISA qualified.

In order to qualify for ISA certification, companies must first be a member of C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism). Dallas Airmotive, Premier Turbines and ITS have been C-TPAT certified since 2005. C-TPAT is a program focused on strengthened security measures throughout a company’s international supply chain, whereas ISA is focused on trade compliance.

The process of ISA certification took nearly two years, and involved a thorough vetting of the company’s customs procedures, import control processes, security measures and audit trail. The certification requires demonstrating the accuracy of CBP transactions, effective internal control procedures over areas considered at risk by CBP, and an ongoing commitment of resources to assume responsibility for monitoring its own compliance with CBP requirements.

“We believe that as cargo security and regulatory compliance issues increase in the global environment, both ISA and C-TPAT certifications will add value to the customer experience when dealing in international markets,” commented McElroy.
