Bahrain Air to receive its new A320 in April 2009
MUHARRAQ - July 7, 2008 - Bahrain Air will take delivery of its new Airbus 320, which will be equipped with a new digital in-flight entertainment system to offer passengers greater choice and control over their in-flight entertainment choices, according to Abdul Moeen Al Bastaki, Bahrain Air's senior technical manager.
Prior to his departure to Toulouse, France, to attend the initial meeting with Airbus to agree and place the final technical specifications of the new aircraft, Al Bastaki added that the digital system incorporates more intuitive navigation through movies, music, information and short feature programming plus new features designed to make passengers' entertainment experience more pleasurable. Inspired by the advances screen design, screen functions have been grouped together to give passengers swifter access to entertainment and information about their destination.
The delivery of the new generation A320 will be delivered in April 2009 to Bahrain Air directly from Airbus Industries in Toulouse, France, and it will be the first aircraft of its type to join Bahrain Air's fleet.
Al Bastaki confirms that intensive efforts are already underway to arrange courses to Bahraini engineers and technicians, prior to the increase in the fleet size of Bahrain Air to five aircraft before the next summer, either directly or through the Maintenance Company HAECO, which is providing the maintenance and technical support to Bahrain Air.
