Denton, TX – This summer 39 students from the Chickasaw Nation Aviation and Space Academy (CNASA), got some real flight time in a Diamond DA-40 and Piper Warrior, thanks to the help of US Aviation Group. For many of the kids, aged 10 – 18, the field trip provided their first experience in a GA aircraft. The reaction was enthusiastic and universally positive. In addition to their experience with flight, they attended a ground school session with the US Flight Academy and visited the DTO control tower in Denton.

US Aviation Group was part of the five-day CNASA summer camp where students were exposed to everything from launching rockets to studying the basics of space medicine. Based in Ada, OK, the CNASA program brings students in from as far away as Colorado and Georgia.

“There really isn’t anything that equals the satisfaction you experience when kids come back from their first flight,” said Mark Taylor at US Aviation Group. “They all indicated they wanted to grow up and become pilots and I expect that some of them will follow through. It’s a thrill to see kids excited about math, science and aviation.”
