FAA Approves Apical's AS350 Air Conditioning Kit

PINEY FLATS, TN -- Dart Helicopter Services announces that its subsidiary partner, Apical Industries Inc., has added the AS350 Air Conditioning Kit to its product line. Transport Canada and EASA approvals are pending.

The AS350 Air Conditioning Kit is a complete cabin cooling solution. All of the main components are mounted on the transmission deck, and all major components can be removed for missions that do not require air conditioning. The condenser and evaporators are aluminum microfin heat exchangers. A single evaporator replaces the current double evaporator design. Additional overhead ducts are installed to cool the pilot and copilot from both directions. A variable displacement compressor increases the efficiency of the system and stronger compressor brackets have improved fatigue resistance over current systems, and are adjustable to allow for precise tensioning of the belt. The condenser fan has been designed with a stainless steel hub to prevent fan failure and improve service life.
