Cirrus CEO Advocates for GA on FoxBusiness News
Cirrus Aircraft President and CEO Brent Wouters spoke out in support of Cirrus and General Aviation live on Fox Business News today in New York. To view the video click here and select the video "Fox Business News."
Cirrus also announces resource changes to ensure focus on the Vision personal jet program. "Despite our positive outlook on demand and the industry, Cirrus must still manage through a turbulent economy," says Wouters. "The Vision program is moving out of early stage research and development and into detailed airframe and systems design and this gives us the opportunity to restructure our engineering efforts. We now need different technical skills on Vision."
Cirrus is shifting resources from more mature piston products into the Vision program. The Cirrus piston line, the SR20, SR22 and TURBO have recently had a major overhaul: new avionics, Cirrus Perspective by Garmin; Enhanced (infra-red) Vision for night flight, and certification for flight into known icing (FIKI).
"Simply put, and as has been the case for some time now, Cirrus Aircraft is focusing its development personnel and investment resources where the expected return is the greatest, which is on the Vision jet program," says Wouters. "Our resource reallocations today do not impact the Vision timeline and progress."
