Pentastar Aviation Receives Training Excellence Award from Aircraft Electronics Association
WATERFORD, MI – Pentastar Aviation has been named as a recipient of the 2008 Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) Avionics Training Excellence Award. The award recognizes Pentastar for a diligent commitment to training and professional development. Less than one percent of award applicants were selected as recipients of the award in 2007. This year marks Pentastar's fifth time receiving this exclusive award.
"We are proud to be recognized for this achievement by the AEA," says Tony Bailey, Director, Maintenance Operations, Pentastar Aviation. "We are dedicated to the continued excellence of our employees, which assures Pentastar customers receive the highest level of service as a result of our dedication to safety, training and professional development. Being a five-time recipient of this award shows our ongoing commitment to exceeding industry standards for training excellence."
In addition to extensive on the job training, Pentastar Aviation's maintenance and avionics employees participated in nearly 1,800 hours of formal classroom training in 2008, an average of 32 hours per eligible employee. This extensive training reflects Pentastar's commitment to maintaining an outstanding employee knowledge base as a best practice.
"We are committed to adding value to every aircraft we work on, which in these stressful economic times is incredibly important to aircraft owners," says Bailey. "We do that by ensuring our employees have the best training possible. While some competitors are cutting back and reducing their training commitments, we are looking forward and concentrating on increased employee knowledge."
The Aircraft Electronics Association represents more than 1,300 repair stations from throughout the world specializing in maintenance, repair, and installation of avionics and electronic systems in general aviation aircraft. AEA membership also includes manufacturers of avionics equipment, instrument repair facilities, instrument manufacturers, airframe manufacturers, test equipment manufacturers, major distributors, engineers and educational institutions.
