ST. LOUIS -- The FAA gave its Gold Award for Excellence to Sabreliner Corporation in recognition of ongoing technician training in its Perryville, MO, location in 2008. Since the FAA introduced this training award program in 2002, Sabreliner has earned seven awards including five Diamond and two Gold.

"While the award recognition we receive for our commitment to training is very gratifying, that is not why we participate," says Ron Herman, senior vice president, operations for Sabreliner. "We believe in providing our customers with the best possible service and support, and the only way to continue doing that year after year is to continue to better ourselves through training."

In addition to the company's Gold Award, 78 Perryville technicians earned individual awards by completing more than six hours of FAA-approved training each. Thirty-three staff members received the Ruby Award, 11 received Gold, 14 Silver, and 20 Bronze. In total, Sabreliner technicians completed more than 6,400 hours of documented training. The Gold Award is given to companies that send at least 50 percent of eligible technicians to specified training programs during the prior calendar year.
