Prospects Good for Aviation Employment in North Carolina
DALLAS -- It may be a period of recession, but in the Triad, economic-development leaders see aviation as a growth industry.
A survey by the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance projects that more than 1,700 jobs will be needed in the Triad's aviation industry from January 2008 through January 2013.
"Some jobs require certification and some don't," said Helen Cauthen, the vice president of cluster development for the alliance. "It's a pretty significant number, and it's structure mechanics to A&P inspectors to design and test engineers."
