General Aviation Airport Executives To Meet In Addison April 26-28
Executives from general aviation airports from throughout the country along with other members of the general aviation industry will gather at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Addison, TX, April 26-28 for the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) General Aviation Issues Conference, hosted by Addison Airport.
"We are pleased to host other airport executives who also operate airports without scheduled airline services," says Addison Airport Director Joel Jenkinson. "General aviation airports have different issues and challenges than those at airports where airline operations take precedent over corporate flight departments or private aircraft. The format of this conference gives us the opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from each other."
Speakers will address topics including current economic conditions, aviation security, environmental practices and runway safety. Executives from a number of general aviation airports as well as federal and state officials will examine best industry practices and operational issues in a roundtable format.
Taking part in the program, in addition to AAAE staff, will be officials from the Federal Aviation Administration, National Business Aviation Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, National Association of State Aviation Officials, U.S. Transportation Security Administration, and the Texas Division of Aviation, Texas Department of Transportation. Exhibits will offer the latest developments in general aviation technologies, procedures and products.
In addition to the working sessions, conference participants will enjoy cocktails and dinner among the vintage aircraft at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. One lucky attendee will receive a sunset flight over the Metroplex in an open cockpit Stearman trainer. The Cavanaugh's B-24 bomber will also be on display and guests may purchase flights in the B-24, if desired.
