U.S. Rep. G. K. Butterfield’s review of a recent contract change at the Coast Guard aviation support center in Elizabeth City found the decision was based on a practical concern about space.
"Congressman Butterfield is satisfied with the Coast Guard's explanation," according to a statement issued by a spokesman for the congressman.
Butterfield, D-N.C., announced three weeks ago he would look into why the Coast Guard recently decided to change the maintenance support contract at its base in Elizabeth City.
