HORSEHEADS, NY -- Sikorsky Global Helicopters, a Sikorsky company, recently delivered an S-300CBi helicopter to Gulf Coast Helicopters, a multi-operation aviation company in Pearland, TX. Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.
Gulf Coast Helicopters operates eight fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, and the new S-300CBi will be its second Sikorsky helicopter. The new helicopter will be used for flight training and pipeline leak detection in the Gulf Coast region. The company also offers charter, aerial survey, emergency response, and pipeline patrol services. This month, the company will mark its 34th consecutive year of accident-free service.
"We found such a good niche for the S-300CBi helicopter that we needed a second one," says Andy Acuna, chief financial officer for Gulf Coast Helicopters. "The S-300CBi is a great choice for our company due to its significant workload and payload capabilities, and its low operating cost gives us a serious advantage."
The S-300CBi helicopter operates throughout the world primarily as a training helicopter, renowned for its excellent flight characteristics, impressive safety record, and competitive operating costs. Combining these features has made the S-300CBi helicopter a leader in its class for cost- and mission-effective training.
