Defense Contractor Adding 270 Employees in Utah and Arizona
BEAVERCREEK, OH — Defense contractor MacAulay-Brown Inc. expects to add about 270 employees at Air Force bases in Utah and Arizona in June to fulfill two new contracts the company won in competitive bidding.
Those include about 190 to do aircraft maintenance and repair at Hill Air Force Base, near Ogden, UT, under an $11.5 million, one-year contract, and about 80 employees to do similar work at the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Tucson, AZ, under a $4.7 million, one-year contract.
MacAulay-Brown takes over those contracts June 1 and expects to have most of the hiring done by then, said Thomas Batty, vice president of business operations. MacAulay-Brown will inherit about 230 of those employees from the companies that previously handled the contracts, and expects to hire about 40 more aircraft maintenance technicians, Batty said Friday, May 15.
