Bodies of Air France Flight 447 Captain and Steward Recovered
In a very brief statement issued today, Air France reported that the bodies of the captain of Flight 447 and a steward have been recovered from the crash site in the Atlantic Ocean.
"Among the victims found in the sea search, two members of the Air France crew have been identified: the flight captain and a steward," the statement read. "Chief Executive Officer, Pierre-Henri Gourgeon, extended his condolences to their families on behalf of all Air France."
Air France has not provided names of the victims, but the captain has previously been identified by members of a pilots' union as Marc Dubois, 58, a 20-year veteran of the airline.
