Flight Design First to Reach 300 in U.S. Fleet
ARLINGTON, WA — Flight Design announces that its distributor, Flight Design Mid-Atlantic, has delivered a new CTLS, marking the number 300 in total units shipped to customers. The airplane (N74KG) was picked up at Lancaster Airports in Lititz, PA, by customer Kenneth D. Griffin of Southampton, NJ, on Wednesday, July 8. This milestone delivery was announced today while Flight Design USA was displaying at the EAA Arlington fly in Washington.
Flight Design was first to hit milestones of 100 and 200 deliveries. No other companies have yet reached 150 deliveries, according to FAA aircraft registration data.
"I know that we had another delivery pending this week as well and wanted to have the honor of giving the keys to the 300th satisfied customer," says John Calla, president of Flight Design Mid-Atlantic.
"Most airplane companies are not delivering at the rate of 2006-2007," says National Sales Director John Gilmore. "Here at the Arlington airshow, we have seen an increase in activity as we build the network of aircraft dealers. The acceptance of high-end LSA aircraft is more than an entry point to aviation community."
"We are able to transition high-time aviators as well as recruit recently-certificated pilots," says Gilmore. "Both categories have been impressed by the engineering quality, travel comfort, long range, and welcomed cost savings of the newest generation of Light-Sport Aircraft. The number 300 delivery confirms that the market continues to increase and the demand for new quality aircraft continues."
