King Aerospace Reorganizes Commercial Operations

Jim Thompson has been appointed general manager and Buddy Tobin senior project manager.

July 21, 2009 Addison, TX -- King Aerospace Commercial Corporation (KACC), a leading aircraft services provider, has reorganized its commercial aircraft operations and appointed Jim Thompson as General Manager and Buddy Tobin as Senior Project Manager.

“In anticipation of a strong recovery for the commercial aircraft services industry, we have undergone a reorganization and added two highly talented senior management team members, Jim Thompson and Buddy Tobin,” said Jerry King-Echevarria, Chairman and Founder of King Aerospace. “With an experienced workforce in place and a tremendous physical infrastructure, we are in position going forward to be very competitive in the marketplace.”

At its Ardmore, OK, facility, KACC has a 200,000-sq.-ft. Service Center that includes four hangars housing a large aircraft paint bay as well as aircraft modification and refurbishment shops. In addition, the facility is an FAA Certified Repair Station.

Leading the new team is Thompson who has 29 years of experience in providing both commercial and military aircraft services. He holds a BS degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University as well as an MBA from the Naval Postgraduate School. Previously, Thompson served as Project Manager for King Aerospace and has 27 years experience in Aerospace Maintenance including the C20 Gulfstream fleet while serving in the United States Navy where he was promoted to positions of increasing responsibility while achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Tobin has 16 years of aircraft maintenance and management experience including work on business and transport sized aircraft. Most recently he served as President of BaySys West, a California based aircraft maintenance and modification center, and has held positions of increasing responsibility with Chelton Aviation and Associated Air Center including that of test pilot. Tobin, a licensed pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings, has a BS degree in Aviation Maintenance Management from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and holds an A&P Certificate with Inspection Authorization.
