It's a Fact: Shows Like NBAA's Convention Are Essential in a Tough Economy

A survey featured in Tradeshow Week magazine highlights the importance of attending tradeshows.

Companies See Trade Shows as Critical to Product-Buying Process Register now for NBAA2009

A survey featured in the respected trade show publication Tradeshow Week magazine highlights a fact long recognized by Exhibitors and Attendees at NBAA's Annual Meeting & Convention: In a challenging economy, trade shows like NBAA's Convention are especially valuable in connecting buyers and sellers and helping Exhibitors market their products and stay in touch with customers.

The Tradeshow Week article goes on to point out: "In a challenging economy it is even more important to keep up-to-date with industry trends, see new products and services, and maintain and build relationships – all areas in which events provide significant value and efficiency."

NBAA’s own Members confirm this fact:

As members of NBAA for over 25 years. and from the "vendor" side, we have always supported NBAA Conventions through hurricanes, wars, postponements etc. Particularly in a year where there are so many issues confronting the industry (economic, legislative, legal, administrative, etc.), it is our sincere hope that companies, flight departments and aircraft owners see the need to "gather as one." It is truly sad for lots of us to witness our friends and colleagues lose their jobs as well as entire established flight departments evaporate. Attendance will not stop this but, if for no other reason, the convention provides and supports networking, unity as well as industry intelligence.

Al Toimil, President/CEO, Jet Parts, Inc.

We plan to attend NBAA2009. There is significant value in meeting with our vendors and service partners. The information gained does validate the incurred expense. The opportunity exists to determine the effects of regulatory and technological changes and how they will impact our fleet and this provides us a proactive means of predicting financial impacts along with analysis for fleet upgrades.

Jim Sparks, Aircraft Maintenance Manager, Richardson Aviation

We decided earlier in the year to upsize our booth and presence at the Convention. We determined that those operators that will be attending will be well qualified. By keeping their winged business tools, they will need to make them more operationally capable and efficient (WAAS GPS) and better connected (Broadband / Wi Fi) with new technology. We will be there to help them find the best solution to do so.

Rick Ochs, President, Spirit Avionics Ltd.

"During the worst economic downturn in decades, attendees and buyers continue to see the value of participating in conventions and trade shows," the magazine's article concludes. "They know that missing key events may pose a competitive disadvantage."

NBAA's Convention has more value than ever in helping businesses put their products and services in front of thousands of customers – all under one roof, in one place, at one time. Even in these tough times, NBAA’s Convention is the one event that remains a must-have on the calendar and in the marketing plan.
