SAN FRANCISCO, CA (September 10, 2009) - Solairus Aviation has announced that it is solidifying its national presence with the hiring of industry veteran Gil Wolin as Senior Vice President, Eastern US, to manage the aviation firms business development efforts on the East Coast.
We are committed to expanding and strengthening our service base to provide a better experience to our clients. Having a solid geographic presence will result in better client access to our management programs, said Solairus CEO Dan Drohan. Gil is representative of the kind of high caliber aviation executive found in Solairus senior management. His addition to our team strongly both enhances our national presence and provides the first step toward further east coast expansion.
It has been a year of achievements and growth for Solairus, which recently changed its name from Sunset Aviation. Solairus quickly established itself as the leader in the next generation of private aircraft charter services when it received the rare and coveted Platinum rating from the Aviation Research Group/US in August. Today Solairus manages one of the nations largest fleets of late-model business jet and turboprop aircraft, serving clients throughout the United States and worldwide.
Aircraft management is a high touch service, and requires that we provide individually tailored services to each client, said Jake Cartwright, Solairus Vice Chairman. With Gil heading up our East Coast office, Solairus is better positioned to provide that kind of customized approach to clients from coast to coast.
Wolin brings more than 35 years of corporate aviation marketing and management experience to Solairus senior management team. Based at Hanscom Field in Bedford, MA, he is charged with further development of Solairus East Coast fleet as well as assisting in Solairus marketing and communications.
Wolin has spent three decades as a senior level executive and consultant to several well known corporate aviation companies, and is today a sought-after expert in the aviation industry. Prior to joining Solairus he served as publisher of McGraw-Hills Business & Commercial Aviation (B/CA), A/C Flyer and Show News magazines, as well as led sales and marketing efforts for a variety of aviation service organizations. He is a frequent speaker at aviation, travel and service seminars, and contributes a monthly Viewpoint column to World Aircraft Sales magazine. He currently serves on the Corporate Angel Network and GE Capital Solutions-Corporate Aviation Advisory Boards. Wolin holds a BA Economics from Lafayette College, and resides in the Boston area.
