CRMA Has Been Selected By General Electric as Primary Repair Source for Engine Alliance GP7200 Engine TCF and Combustion Chambers
Paris, Amsteelveen, 23 September 2009. CRMA, as part of AFI KLM E&M worldwide network, has signed a contract with GE to become repair provider for the Engine Alliance GP7200 engine combustion chambers (CC) and turbine center frames (TCF). The GP7200 engine is a new generation engine built by the Engine Alliance (a 50/50 joint venture between GE and Pratt & Whitney) to power the Airbus A380 aircraft.
Under this agreement, CRMA will repair the GP7200 engine combustion chambers and TCF as primary source. These two modules will extend the wide range of CRMA MRO Services dedicated to Very Big Engines (VBE).
GP7200 engine repairs will benefit from the high tech industrial infrastructure CRMA already operates for the repair of GE’s GE90 engine combustion chambers and TCF. For instance CRMA has recently invested in a laser drilling machine, a laser welding machine, and a vacuum brazing furnace.
