ORLANDO, Fla. – Oct. 19, 2009 – StandardAero, a Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) company, spurred by the recent award of its Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) by the FAA for its Springfield, Ill. location, is renewing its focus on providing engineering and certification services including Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) development to all segments of the aviation industry, including business aviation.
Underscoring this renewed focus is the company’s recent completions at its Associated Air Center (AAC) operations in Dallas, Texas.
“AAC is working on an impressive array of upgrades on both Boeing and Airbus aircraft,” said Jack Lawless, President, Associated Air Center and Chief Operating Officer for StandardAero. “Recently we completed cabin entertainment and WiFi STCs on Boeing 737 BBJ aircraft. Other STC projects in work include Boeing 727 auxiliary fuel tanks, electronic flight bags with security system in Boeing 777, 747, 737, Airbus A319, A320, A300 and A330 aircraft, engine upgrade on the Cessna Caravan, and emergency cabin lighting in Boeing 737 BBJ.”
“Unlike others in our industry, StandardAero is truly a ‘full-service’ aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service provider,” said Scott Taylor, Senior Vice President, Business Aviation for StandardAero. “We’ve long been the leader in engine MRO. By growing our engineering and certification services with our capabilities in airframe, avionics, component repair, modifications and interior refurbishments, StandardAero provides customers with the most comprehensive single-source service provider in the industry – a true one-stop shop.
The recent Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) enables StandardAero to provide design and certification services leading to the issuance of STCs for alterations and modifications on a broad range of aerospace products. These include complete interiors, engine retrofits, airframe modifications, cabin entertainment systems, glass cockpits and other major avionics upgrades on most aircraft models. Through its in-house capability and network of DERs, StandardAero can also provide design and engineering services necessary to support STC applications. The company has already secured significant contracts on various platforms extending into 2010.
