Universal’s Aviation Weather Today Launches 12 New Regional Broadcasts
Houston (October 20, 2009) – Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. announced that its free online aviation weather video broadcast, Aviation Weather Today, has launched a total of 12 new regional segments covering 48-hour Significant Weather (SIGWX) across the globe.
“Our new regional broadcasts are the first totally free online video broadcasts to offer a two-day aviation-specific SIGWX forecast for these 12 regions,” said Randy Stephens, Senior Director, Specialty Products, Universal®. “The addition of these new broadcasts allows Universal to directly meet the needs of its international flying clients as well as the needs of domestic operators traveling to their home base with a quick snapshot weather overview.”
The new Aviation Weather Today regional broadcasts include:
• United States
• North America
• Europe
• Asia
• Africa
• Australia
• North Atlantic
• South America
• North Pacific
• South Pacific
• West Pacific
• United Kingdom
Aviation Weather Today also recently launched a new video player, which can now be embedded on any Web site free of charge.
“The new video player offers a multitude of capabilities, such as a carousel view to quickly scroll through and select the broadcast you want and the ability to subscribe to the broadcast via RSS feed, which allows users to watch the broadcast in iGoogle, MyYahoo!, and many other sites and applications that read RSS,” said Stephens. “But the new enhancement I think our viewers will be most excited about is the capability to embed the broadcast on their Web sites. This is a simple way for aviation professionals to make crucial aviation weather information – that is continuously updated – accessible via their Web sites at absolutely no charge.”
