BELLEVILLE, MICHIGAN–The Michigan Institute of Aviation and Technology (MIAT) is pleased to announce its admission to a highly select group of training organizations by meeting or exceeding the knowledge and skill standards and certifications set forth by the National Center for Aerospace and Transportation Technologies (NCATT).
MIAT is one of only 15 institutions to earn NCATT accreditation status.
Aerospace industry professionals, from many manufacturers and service companies in North America, established the NCATT initiative in 1999 that requires a particular set of standards be met by the workforce in the aerospace industry. These knowledge and skill based standards also promote integrity, safety, and professionalism in the aerospace industry.
According to Tim Kissel, MIAT Director of Training, the NCATT Aircfaft Electronics Technician (AET) Certificate, along with other program certificates, underscores the excellent quality of the skill sets and training their graduates offer to employers.
"With rapid developments in aviation technology, and especially avionics, employers need assurance our instruction is cutting edge, and on the right equipment. Our accreditation by NCATT reinforces our commitment to train at that level", stated Kissel.
Students enrolled in the Airframe and Powerplant Technician Program at the school are screened according to industry requirements, and earn a variety of certificates, including the NCATT AET Certificate (examinations administered by PSI/LaserGrade®), FlightSafety International Principles of Troubleshooting, Rockwell Collins Maintenance Diagnostic Computer Familiarization, FAA Airframe and Powerplant (examinations administered by FAA), and EEO Respect and Anti-Harassment.
With a 40-year history offering intensive technical training programs, MIAT has established a reputation for delivering high quality candidates to work in skilled technical employment sectors like aviation/aerospace, energy, defense and transportation.
