Glasair Aviation and Flabob Airport will co-host the Glasair Fly-In marking the 30th anniversary of the debut of the Glasair design set for Sept. 10 – 13.

Riverside, CA – Glasair Aviation and Flabob Airport have agreed to co-host the Glasair Fly-In marking the 30th anniversary of the debut of the Glasair design set for September 10 – 13. Officials at Glasair are anticipating at least 50 Glasairs and 30 Glastars and Sportsman on that weekend.

As with all Fly-Ins, there will be three days of intense flying, socializing and hangar talk. Friday night there will be a wine and cheese welcome party for all evening arrivals. Saturday will start out with fly-out activities, maintenance seminars and Q&A sessions, and lead into the evening banquet at the facilities of EAA Chapter One, with Tom Hamilton, Ted Setzer and Henri Chorosz scheduled as featured speakers.

Those attending the Fly-In will be given a hangar tour of Flabob to see, among many others, the four Golden Age Replica Racers belonging to Tom Wathen. Those will include the Comet, Meteor, Firecracker and Caudron racers. Wathen’s Sportsman 2 + 2, a product of the popular Two Weeks to Taxi program, will also be parked on the ramp.

“Flabob Airport just seemed like an excellent site, given its rich history, the EAA Chapter One facility and range of excellent activity within a short drive of the airport,” said Mikael Via, President of Glasair Aviation. “The Meyers Fly-In last year proved that this is a great location for type club gatherings and I’m sure that every Glasair/Glastar owner will have a busy, enjoyable three days.”

The Fly-In at Flabob is open to the public and all pilots. For more information visit www.Glasair.com or www.Flabob.org.
