AMFA Local 11 Announces Winners of the 2010 Scholarship Fund

The number of awardees doubled this year to twelve.

On Tuesday, 20 July 2010, the membership of Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) Local 11 selected the winners of their 2010 Scholarship fund. We extend our congratulations to the following twelve individuals:

Louis George, Donald Rhoads, Tyler Kreis, Maha Mohiuddin, Anissa Hicks, Colin Miller, Kayla Dillon, Ashley Ramos, Caitlan Lee, Jamie Janzen, Kristen Shanahan, Lauren Holt

AMFA Local 11 recognizes the importance of continuing education, both for our membership and their families. With this in mind, the members of AMFA Local 11 created an annual Scholarship Fund which began in 2006. This program has been so successful, the number of awardees doubled this year to twelve, each valued at $1,000.00. Eligible individuals were members and their immediate family members. Since creation of the AMFA Local 11 Scholarship Fund, a total of $36,000.00 has been to our members and/or family members.

AMFA Local 11 represents over 980 members employed at both Southwest Airlines and Mesaba Airlines as Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, Aircraft Appearance Technicians and related at various locations across the United States.
